MILLROSE

The Millrose project represents a significant exploration opportunity to identify new Archaean lode gold and nickel deposits in the northern Kalgoorlie Superterrane of the Eastern Goldfields Province. The project extends south of the Shoemaker Structure near the boundary of the Earaheedy basin.

The company has applied for two new exploration licenses (E53/1619-20) totalling 300km2 over an area of magnetic anomalism which GTE believes may represent one of the few remaining, unexplored greenstone belts in Australia.

The principal gold deposits within the Yilgarn are characterised by narrow veins and stockworks of quartz that contain high grades of gold. Research in the past 30 years has shown that lode gold deposits are commonly spatially and genetically linked to a combination of magnetite enriched host rocks and shearing. The Millrose project now held under application is very prospective for similar types of deposits however there has been no concerted exploration for this style of mineralisation north northwest of Millrose station.

The greenstone belt likely comprises Archaean volcanics and is unconformably overlain, in part, by reworked Proterozoic and Cainozoic sediments. The proposed exploration program includes a major airborne geophysical survey over the entire tenement area at a line spacing of 100m to allow better definition of the target lithologies and structures. In addition, soil sampling and rock chip sampling programmes are proposed for the area to determine priority drill targets
